Attorney Profiles

Ileen P. Swerdloff is one of the first women lawyers to develop an active court practice at a time when this was primarily limited to men.  At that time, the atmosphere was far from welcoming for women.  Still, attorney Swerdloff developed an active criminal and civil litigation practice. 

Swerdloff currently serves on the board of directors of Greater Hartford Legal Aid, Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective, Real Art Ways and The Hartford Stage Company.  She is also co-chairperson of the Hartford Stage Company's Gala.

Swerdloff recently celebrated 42 years of marriage to Mark H. Swerdloff, her law partner for over 30 years.  While building a successful law practice she raised (without day care) one son who is currently a graduate student at NYU after spending several years as an associate at a major New York law firm.
